Matthew Shevlin's early goal gave Coleraine FC a 1-0 victory over Cliftonville on Saturday, extending their lead at the Premiership summit. The Bannsiders now sit three points clear at the top with 28 points from 11 games, their recent form reading four wins from five.

Shevlin struck the decisive blow in the 13th minute, finishing a well-worked team move. The striker later received a booking in the 41st minute, one of four yellow cards shown to Coleraine players during a physical contest.

Cliftonville created several chances to level the match. Brian Healy hit the post in the first half, while Joel Cooper was twice denied by saves from goalkeeper Morrison. Shaun Leppard came closest to an equaliser late on, rattling the crossbar with a powerful effort, but Coleraine's defence held firm to secure a second consecutive league win.

Both managers made multiple changes as the game progressed. Coleraine introduced Kane and Ives in the second half, while Cliftonville used all five of their substitutes in an attempt to find a breakthrough.

Highlights from the Bannsiders’ victory are now available on the club’s official YouTube channel. Media officer Jonathan McNabb said: "HIGHLIGHTS from the Bannsiders’ victory against Cliftonville can now be viewed on the club’s official YouTube account."

The result keeps Coleraine in a strong position ahead of a key trip to face third-placed Larne this Friday.
